Bought a new 2026 Ridge Inline4 and am having problems with it surging during acceleration. It doesn't matter what power range or gear it's in. Very frustrating. Ideas or thoughts on what could be causing this?

They all seem to surge when pulling away if that is what you are talking about

No. This surges at all speeds and while driving. It is less severe in high speed (aka "sport). It's at the dealership right now. Hoping they can figure out what's wrong

HOW Many miles ? If it has any amount of miles on it, if it were me I would tell them to clean the clutches. They are known if dirty they could stick some. Just a thought may not be it, but it is there now so may be worth getting it done.

I've only driven it less than 3 hours. Essentially brand new.

Well I doubt it is clutch sticking with that little mileage. I say you have it in the right place the dealer has the equipment for that. Just thought I would mention the clutch just in case.

Well, I just bought a new Ridge, and mine did the same thing on starting to move.........it jerked and surged. My dealer said Kawi wanted the clutch shimmed because it was tight. I am going to pick it up this week.............I will keep you posted.

Thank you. This validates my experience. Mine is still at the shop and have heard nothing other than they have to order parts. It's been about three weeks in the shop now.

My God...............three weeks. I would be honestly not a very happy camper, and the dealership and Kawasaki would know about it. I am sure Kawi would not be happy
one of their newly released Flagships was sitting at a dealership for three weeks waiting for parts. I would make the call to Kawi Customer Service.

By the way..............I owned a Boat Dealership for over 16 years. When I had a motor or boat issue that I could not resolve due to parts or something on the Engine or Boat end, that I had
no control of..........I always had the customer call the manufacturers customer service. Most of them do not like these calls, and when a customer explains what is going on
and "I bought a Kawasaki because of XYZ, but after this experience with a new machine, I am thinking I should have bought a Polaris", somebody will get on the horn with the
dealership and make something happen. I had engines I could not get parts for no matter what I did, and all of a sudden, I got a call from Yamaha or Evinrude, and parts were
there the next day. Trust me it works.............and with the way Kawi introduced the Ridge............bad press and unhappy customers are not to their liking.

Definitely giving the dealership a call, but I like the idea of calling Kawasaki.

Trust me............if in fact it is a part issue, the dealer will love you for doing it. If for some reason the dealership is sitting on their hands or has no clue as to how to fix
the issue, a call from Kawi will wake them up a little. Trust me, I have been on both ends of the deal.........as a consumer and dealer.

Got it back today. Something with the clutch. I asked if they added shims, but they said no, it was something else. Apparently you can get an aftermarket spring for the clutch for about $70 that fixes the problem, but installing it will cancel the warranty. They said I can order the part and install it myself and no one would know. Apparently kawasaki has fixed this problem in the newer models and the Ridge crew cab. It also fixes the high rpm.
