This is what I'm most curious about! The new steel belt system in the Ranger XD 1500 is a step in the right direction I think, but it would be interesting to see how a geared transmission would do in a utility machine. Hopefully, the Ridge has something that is smooth-shifting and strong!
I agree with you! Even if they are comparable in price I'm much more interested in the inline 4-cylinder engine and the reliability of Kawasaki products.
Since the Kawasaki Ridge has an in-line 4-cylinder engine, I'm hoping it has more torque down low in the RPM range, resulting in a much quieter cabin. I'm not sure the suspension will be as sporty as the Xpedition, as I doubt they have a rear trailing arm suspension on the Ridge. I would say the...
The newest Kawasaki Ridge teaser is here and it gives us even more insight into its infotainment system. Check out the video above to see all of the automotive-inspired gauges and displays featured in the new Kawasaki Ridge.
I swung into my local Kawasaki dealer before Christmas and put my name down for a Ridge. They didn't know any more than I did about it, but they put me first in line and said they would let me know when they got allocation information. Has anyone else talked to their dealer about ordering a new...
A Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Northstar two-door starts at $27,899 and a Can-Am Defender Limited two-door starts at $29,899. So I'm going to guess that the new Kawasaki Ridge full cab two-door will probably start around $28,000.
That inline 4 sounds smooth in the video clip! I hope they learned from hearing all the complaints about how loud the Polaris Xpedition is and focused on making the Ridge nice and quiet.
Same here. Especially, after seeing a quick glimpse of the shocks. They don't look like they have remote reservoirs so I don't think they are high-speed performance shocks.
Kawasaki dropped their newest teaser for the all-new Ridge today and it gives us more insight into the suspension, shocks, and tires that will be used on this new Side X Side. In the video, you can see that it will come with a winch and have a good amount of ground clearance. At first glance...
I don't think it will have anywhere near those rumored horsepower numbers. I think it will probably best the new Ranger XD 1500 engine, which is a 1,500cc three-cylinder engine that makes a class-leading 110hp. I'm hoping it's a 3 to 4 cylinder engine that is quiet and makes about 125+ hp.
Is a Luxury Side X Side an option? My guess is it's going to be a comfortable, quiet, and air-conditioned utility machine that you can ranch or overland with.
I bet we get a two-door and four-door cab option. It will be interesting to see if Kawasaki does a center console with two seats up front (like the Polaris Xpedition) or if it comes with a bench seat.
